Dear Member

A committee meeting will be held on Monday 13 October 2003 at Batley Sports Centre at 8 pm. If the Club is to continue to be successful and hold regular race meetings it is important that as many members are involved as possible. You do not have to be on the Committee to help – you can help with mowing the track, track setting up, track building etc. We need members to attend this meeting in order that we can ascertain how much assistance is available and who is willing to be involved.

As attendance at the touring car meetings on Saturday evenings was poor in the latter part of the season and the club was not meeting the cost of the rent and tape etc, it has been decided to run joint meetings with the buggies on Sundays until we have a better of idea of how much interest there is and what level of support is available from members.

As we pay an annual rent for the outdoor track and the weather is still favourable there will be another outdoor meeting for the buggies at the Spenborough track on Sunday 12 October 2003 – we hope the weather will hold!

We have already put a few dates into the Sports Centre diary before other events are booked. These are:

Sunday 16 November 2003 12 – 5 pm
Sunday 14 December 2003 12 – 5 pm
Sunday 11 January 2004 12 – 5pm
Sunday 1 February 2004 8 – 6 pm (Regional meeting for buggies)
(track building for this event will be at 4 pm on Saturday 31 January 2004)
Sunday 15 February 2004 12 – 5 pm
Sunday 7 March 2004 12 – 5 pm

A half hour is allowed prior to the booking for setting up. The level of support from members will determine whether it is worth arranging any other indoor meetings.

Points trophies for the last series will be determined from the results of the meetings held during that season – both for the touring cars and the buggies. The touring cars will be changed to 3 from 4 to count to give the overall results. Congratulations to Peter Mason overall winner for the Touring Cars and the 2wd Buggies and to Matt Hirst for the 4wd Buggies and to all runners-up.
